IIn the September issue of Hotel Business our co-founder Michaël Marbais explains where hotel safety goes wrong in practice, and how safety, security and leadership reinforce each other.
Most hotels have an emergency plan, a crisis plan or a business continuity plan. On paper, everything seems to be in order. The difference only shows when something actually happens: under pressure, people react differently from what the procedure says.
In the article “The biggest vulnerability is not in technology, but in people”, Michaël talks with journalist Peter Van Oyen about, among other things:
- why the night shift is the forgotten risk zone;
- what high staff turnover means for safety;
- how to find the balance between hospitality and control;
- why cybersecurity is becoming the new front line;
- how a hotel can get started: risk analysis, priorities, simple procedures, regular practice.
The interview took place at the Hilton Brussels Grand Place, where Kingsm3n developed an integrated approach to safety, security and leadership.
